The role of the Chamber of Commerce as an advocate for our business interests was recently re-emphasized by the Chamber Board of Directors in their strategic plan. The Government Affairs Committee is trying to get a handle on the largest single issue we face as a business group, how do we find a stable county governmental structure to enhance our business climate?
As a Chamber Member, we urge you to contact any member of the board, or committee member, to let us know your concerns and where you believe we can best advocate for our collective business interests.

The GP Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving local businesses through networking, building a strong local economy, public advocacy and awareness.
Creating a strong vibrant local economy depends on cultivating the atmosphere, policies, programs and culture where members can grow their businesses. We do this through the lens of several base objectives.
From time to time the Chamber's Board of Directors will feel it necessary to take a stand on a public policy issue that impacts business in the area; at other times we will simply seek to represent our membership by informing our community of the potential business impact of a particular issue, and encouraging the public to educate themselves and be considerate of their local businesses when casting their votes.
The Chamber board encourages all residents and businesses to be registered voters, contact their elected officials as needed, stay informed about local, state, federal affairs and be engaged in being informed in every election.
